NSW Government CTP Green Slip Updates

Significant changes to the NSW CTP Green Slip scheme could change the way you claim after an accident.

On December 1, 2017, the NSW government reformed the CTP Green Slip scheme to better support people injured on our roads and to reduce the cost of Green Slips for vehicle owners.

What does this mean for you?

If you’ve been injured in a motor vehicle accident since December 1, 2017, you may be eligible to make a personal injury claim under the new CTP Green Slip reform. Under the new scheme most injured people, regardless of fault, may be entitled to claim up to 26 weeks’ of defined benefits for weekly income payments, medical and treatment costs, and possibly commercial attendant care.

However, the new government scheme is not backdated. If you were injured in a motor accident before December 1, 2017, any claims will continue in accordance with the legislation that applied at the time of the accident. If you have been injured, call Prominent Lawyers.

Why seek legal advice?

When new laws and information come into place, lawyers are in the best position to have up-to-date information, especially where clients can be at risk. And with different CTP schemes still operating at the same time it’s important to get correct advice for your circumstances from Prominent Lawyers.

Seeking legal advice during this transition is crucial to avoid missing out on benefits you may be entitled to. It can also be useful to get proper legal advice on areas such as the following:

  • Dispute resolution

  • Legal costs
